Power of Rest

I remember reading about the power of rest in Victor Wooten's book "The Music Lesson". It dawn upon me constantly that the rest is a note/tool/instrument that command a greater power then the rest of the notes. It's ability to make you stop and listen more carefully, it is able to alter the feel of the whole song/rhythm easily just by adding in rests.

There is a chinese saying "Resting is for walking a longer road". Its application might not be for music, but its always heard in most songs that before the solo there will usually be a slight rest.

OMG, I feel I am just blabbering nonsense again. Haha!!!
